Health insurance provides access to the quality health care that all people need and deserve. Yet, more than 64 million adults aged 18 to 64 in the United States lack health insurance. The vast majority (79.3%) come from working families. They are our neighbors, and their lack of health care is a problem for all of us.

No community can be truly healthy if a significant portion of the population is excluded from basic health care services. In the absence of a national health policy that includes health care for everyone, concerned citizens need to find other ways to provide the underserved with the health care services they need.
